Expedia's APIs are real but partner-gated and built for distribution, not market monitoring. These answers cover reading Expedia rates from the outside, including the brand quirks inside Expedia Group.
Expedia's APIs - including Rapid - serve approved partners for distribution and supply. They are not a general public API for reading competitor rates across Expedia's sites.
Competitor-rate visibility on Expedia brands comes from collected public page data.
Partner APIs are available to approved partners under agreement, not as an open free service, and they serve booking distribution rather than market monitoring.
For rate intelligence on Expedia, the practical route is a data provider, compared on coverage and final-price handling.
Public listing data per property and stay: room rates and types, cancellation terms, availability, and room photos and amenities.

Its weight varies by market - set its priority from your own channel mix rather than by default.
Both are Expedia Group brands, but promotions, member programs and display treatments differ by brand. Same group does not mean same shown price.
If both matter in your market, track them as separate channels.
Standard rate-shopping cadence by stay-date distance; nothing Expedia-specific changes the freshness math - near dates fast, far dates slower, offers captured each check.
As always, frequency follows the decision the data feeds.
